Call for Entries

DEADLINE:  JUNE 1, 2010

Packaging Machinery Technology magazine is searching for the Packaging Line of the Year. Any packaging line in the U.S. or Canada that became fully operational in 2009 is eligible to enter.

The winning packaging line – and all companies associated with the line - will receive unparalleled recognition and publicity through high profile attention and media coverage from PMT magazine, PMMI and PACK EXPO International 2010.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Being recognized at an awards presentation at PACK EXPO
  • Taking part in a special session of the Conference at PACK EXPO detailing the success of the project
  • Being the focus of a cover story and feature article in PMT magazine’s November/December 2010 issue
  • Paid airfare, hotel and show registration costs to bring two representatives from the end user company to PACK EXPO

And much more…

The Packaging Line of the Year Award is not limited to new line installations. Major expansions or renovations can and should enter the competition - and will be judged on equal footing with new line installations.

Entries will be judged according to the following criteria:

  • Contribution to the company’s actual or projected long-term business plan
  • Level of innovation in packaging line design (creative new technology or creative use of existing technology)
  • Use of floor space/layout and design of line
  • Integration of machinery to optimize productivity
  • Productive integration of workforce into the overall plan
  • On-time/on budget performance
  • Product surety/product protection
  • Use of new automation and software technologies
  • Flexibility and changeover features
  • Worker safety innovation
  • Environmental impact

The facility must be available for a visit by a Packaging Machinery Technology editor in July or August 2010. In addition, a photo shoot of the packaging line will be conducted.

Any consumer packaged goods company, packaging machinery manufacturer, system integrator, design, architectural, engineering or consulting firm, as well as any major supplier working on the packaging line is eligible to submit an entry. The end user company where the line is installed will be named as the winner and must agree to participate. All suppliers associated with the project will be recognized for their contributions.
